APPLICATIONS FOR THE LEGAL FIELD
UNIFORM SUPPORT PETITION
Support petitions can take many forms, depending on the type of relief sought, the type of case it represents, etc.
Filling in the petitioner's and respondent's names and choosing the type of case will set the program off on one of
several paths.
When the user selects the number of children to be covered by the petition, it determines how many times the request for
information (name, SSN, date of birth) about each child loops around.
More "branching." Choosing "support for a prior
period" will not only give you a screen in which to
specify the period, but it WON'T give you other screens
that don't apply to your case. Not so easy to get
mixed-up that way.
Here the user can specify the type of action
sought in the petition. Each box that is checked
leads to another "branch" of the program "tree,"
so you never encounter things you don't need.
Leaves extra time to play FreeCell.
The finished document.
This particular form was
voice-enabled to insert
checkmarks, since that was
the manner in which that
client was accustomed to
working. If you'd rather have
words inserted at the
appropriate points, that's no
problem. The point is to
make forms work the way
YOU do - not make YOU
change to match the
program.
