RECORDERS
We offer only the digital recorders that have been shown to excel with voice-recognition software - after all, if the
sound going in is muddy, the value of using Dragon is seriously compromised. We're authorized Philips and
Olympus dealers, but heartily recommend other things, too, if they're good enough. Any of the hardware listed below
will work well with Dragon. If you're an international spy, you might want to look for something smaller that can fit in
your shoe or something malleable that you can disguise as a bagel. These definitely look like recorders and will
not fool anyone.

With the Philips Digital Pocket
Memo 9600, a new recording
format is introduced specifically
geared to speech recognition
processing of dictations: the
DSS-Pro, which provides twice the
sampling rate for really, really
clear audio. Plus it's one of only
two HIPAA-enabled recorder son
the market, with three levels of
security to maintain the privacy of
your dictations. You don't even
need a PC to upload the station.

third-grader could use it. It's
extremely user-friendly, has great
audio, and shuts itself off if it feels
itself falling. It has two microphones
(sort of like surround-sound, only in
reverse), and has a nice soft rubbery
feel to it. More
