Dragon Medical 10
- Reduce or eliminate the cost of transcription
- Accelarate EMR adoption rates
- Increase coding levels, patient volume, and revenue
- Improve provider satisfaction
Dragon Medical 10 enables medical professionals to get complete clinical notes instantly and at a fraction of the cost of manual transcription.
Save tens of thousands of dollars per year physician on transcribing costs alone - throw in savings on staff vacation time and health insurance,
and you're talking BIG bucks. Fast, easy and amazingly accurate -- 20% more accurate than version 9. Use with any Microsoft® Office®
application, or any Windows based Electronic Medical Records application. Includes administrative tools for large distributed network
deployments, such a support for Citrix terminals. You can even dictate into a handheld device when you're away from your PC, or use a
Bluetooth microphone whilst pacing the floor. A Nuance-approved noise canceling microphone is included. Does not include continental
breakfast, sports car, or new shoes.
Who is it designed for?
Health care, mental health and alternative care practitioners in mid-sized practices, including physicians, physician’s assistants, nurses, physical
therapists, medical specialists, academics and researchers, psychiatrists, psychologists, chiropractors, health insurance companies, malpractice
lawyers, medical transcriptionists, medical students, and others. Also shamans.
Here's what you'll like in Dragon Medical 10:
Dragon Medical 10 is 20% more accurate than the prior release, and is up to 99% accurate right out of the box, and over 38% more accurate
than using Dragon Professional in a clinical setting. Of course, if YOU misspeak, it will, too.
Navigate and dictate inside EMR software; History of Present Illness, Review of Systems, Assessment and Plan.
Covers nearly 80 specialties and subspecialties. Dictate with confidence using your specialty’s vocabulary. Or dictate insecurely with somebody
else's specialty.
Accented speakers (nothing to do with woofers) get higher out-of-the-box recognition with advanced adaptation techniques and accent-specific
acoustic models.
- SUPPORTS HIPAA REGULATIONS
Protect patient confidentiality by securely storing speech files.
This does not refer to anything furtive. Rather, you can dictate anywhere in the EMR, eliminating navigation between EMR
screens and the notes window. You no longer have to click back and forth between information you’re reviewing (lab
tests, patient history, current meds, etc.) and the dictation window. You dictate, while reviewing information, into Hidden Mode, which allows
youto place the dictation directly where you wish.
- DRAGON TEMPLATES WITH VOICE FIELDS
Automate form filling applications by adding fields in dictation templates. Thus, you can make a macro that says "Heart rate was ___ and blood
pressure was ___," and you can move to each field by voice once the text is in your document.
Expands abbreviations and follows capitalization rules. “HPI” can appear as either “History of Present Illness”, “history of present illness”, or
“HPI.” You can customize the program to work exactly as you do.
Program buttons to run any function or user voice command. Particularly fetching are the "Heel" and "Stay" buttons.
Personal voice commands appear in Command browser for faster use, so you don't have to scroll past all those "<blah blah>
commands to get to the ones YOU wrote.
- REDUCE OR ELIMINATE TRANSCRIPTION COSTS
You can save thousands of dollars or more per year or more over manual transcription costs. - many physicians spend over $10,000 a year on
traditional transcription, and have to wait for their documents to return. With Dragon, that cost is almost gone: Dragon pays for itself in the first
couple of months, and all the rest is money in your pocket. Just think: you could visit Paris or Sydney with the time and money you'll have left
over. Or buy a vintage Mustang. Or just sleep later.
- IMPROVED AUTO-TRANSCRIPTION
Now the Auto-Transcription capacity in Dragon lets you send the audio portion of the transcription - as well as the text - to your correctionist,
so s/he can tell whether you said "shoes" or "choose" by listening to your own mellifluous tones dictating.
- SPEND MORE TIME WITH PATIENTS
Increased accuracy means fewer errors to correct, which lets clinicians spend more time with patients, improving both quality of care and
patient satisfaction. And satisfied patients complain less, sue less, and are more likely to bring you a bottle of wine during the holidays.
- DICTATE IN YOUR OWN WORDS
Dragon Medical’s freetext dictation capability supports more detailed History of Present Illness, more flexible Review of Systems, and more
descriptive Assessment and Plan—the “medical decision-making” aspects of the note—which give referring clinicians and ancillary providers a
clearer and more detailed patient assessment and prognosis.
- IMPROVE CLINICIAN SATISFACTION
Clinicians who use Dragon Medical report that it significantly improves their enjoyment of practicing medicine. By allowing them to use their
time more effectively, and getting them home in time for dinner, clinician quality of life improves.
Other languages: The Medical Solution is only available in English.
Dragon NaturallySpeaking® Professional 8 or 9 to Dragon Medical 10
Dragon NaturallySpeaking® Medical 8 or 9 to Dragon Medical 10

Dragon Medical 10 is up to 99% accurate out-of-the-box, and includes medical vocabularies covering nearly 80 medical specialties and
subspecialties. Dragon Medical allows physicians to dictate in their own words, generating “once and done” documentation which they can
dictate, edit and review in succession. Clinicians further accelerate dictation by using macros to re-use frequently dictated text. This
approach dramatically reduces the time physicians spend documenting care. Dragon Medical supports HIPAA patient confidentiality guidelines,
critical requirements for all practices. Dragon Medical lets clinicians use their own words to dictate progress notes, prescribe medication and
access test results so they readily embrace EMR systems and dramatically accelerate EMR adoption. Dragon Medical 10 lets physicians navigate
any Windows®- or Citrix®-based EMR system using voice commands—three times faster than most people can type or click with a mouse.
Dragon Medical 10 works with hundreds of EMR applications including the following:
|
Allscripts® TouchWorks® / Healthmatics® Cerner Millenium® DoD AHLTA DoD Essentris eClinicalWorks™ Eclipsys® Sunrise Clinical Manager™ Epic EpicCare® Epic Hyperspace
|
GE® Centricity McKesson® Practice Partner Misys® EMR NextGen® EMR McKesson® Horizon Meditech Sage® Intergy Siemens® Soarian Veterans Admin CPRS

DRAGON MEDICAL WILL NOT ONLY SAVE YOU TIME AND MONEY, BUT ACTUALLY INCREASE YOUR REVENUE
Using Dragon Medical results in higher levels of reimbursement than notes built by “point and click” EMR templates. When physicians point-and-
click or - worse - type, they generate average Level 3 reports. When they dictate, their report level averages Level 4. No arguing with that.
Reduce denials.
More complete, accurate documentation improves coding effectiveness and provides richer detail per patient, giving physicians greater
confidence to code at higher levels than with an EMR system alone. It also makes the patient more "real" in physicians' memories if they are ever
called upon to defend their practices in court, or when they see the patient again after a long time: "point-and-click" reports tend, over time,
to sound much the same, while dictated reports retain the richness of detail that truly describes a patient or a case, and makes them much
easier for the doctor to remember.
Increase practice volume.
Faster, more accurate response reduces time spent on documentation, allowing clinicians to see more patients and increase practice revenue
and profitability. Of course, this could conflict with that "getting home in time for dinner" part...
