- The 9450 VC recognizes work type codes or patient/client ID numbers spoken by the author
and transforms these into file headers. The author gets immediate visual feedback via the display.
Up to 5 ID numbers or 2 different work types can be assigned. If you can do factorials, you can
figure out how many possible combinations this is. We're not up to the task.
- 4-position switch enables single-handed use, allowing you to continue working in the most
familiar way. Not to mention holding a cup of coffee with the other.
- Record notification beep: can be activated, for ‘recording in progress’ notification for intuitive
operation. "Intuitive operation" = absent-minded people don't record for an hour and then discover
they never turned the "record" function on.
- Exchangeable Multimedia/SD Card provides simple, efficient data transfer and flexibility when
on the move. MMC or SD cards up to 512 MB can be used. A 32 MB memory card is included for
over 5 hours of high quality recording time. "On the move" does not mean while running down an
alley. It means flying first-class and staying in five-star hotels.
- Option to change storage mode allowing continuous recording similar to analog tape-based
recording. We are determined that absolutely nothing get in the way of your drive to conquer the
universe.
- DSS file format, the industry-standard file format for recording devices, offers minimum file
sizes while maintaining crystal clear sound quality. Dragon users, however, will need to change this.
- End-of-letter index marks a dictation file as complete and automatically generates a new file
(button can also be disabled). Just in case you didn't know you'd gotten to the end.
- Voice-activated recording gives users hands-free dictation. Works on golf course.
- Insert, overwrite and delete functions allow full editing and continuity of dictation (buttons can
also be disabled) -- in case you lost your head and mouthed off inappropriately.
Workflow benefits
- Advanced workflow functions: The 9450 can be fully programmed allowing database criteria to
be downloaded/uploaded as the application software requires. It cannot be programmed for
shoeshines.
- Workflow management capability enables definition of 5 x 20 keywords. This sounds the
deathknell for all your 6-digit keywords.
- The Barcode Scanner Module 9284 (optional) can be used to link demographic information to
dictation files. Perhaps it will work at the grocery store, too - we don't know.
- Centrally triggered remote firmware upgrade allows simultaneous upgrading to future product
enhancements, greatly facilitating enterprise wide maintenance. Ah, ongoing employment for the IT
department.
- Priority index marks a dictation file as urgent. There are also "pay no attention to this, I was
just fooling around" marks available.
- LC display shows creation time/date, size of the dictation file, operating mode and battery
status. For an extra fee, we'd be happy to hook it up to cable for you.
